  1. UVA is 27? Even the most vocal haters acknowledge that UVA is at least top 20 material. How do your ranking calculations work?

    Sorry for the slow response. All #'s quoted are through the date of the ranking.

    Despite Virginia's gaudy record and playing in a power conference, their schedule has been soft. As of the post, they had only played 6 games vs. the RPI Top 50; 75 teams have played more. While the Cavs are an impressive 10-3 away from home, only two of those wins are against NCAA Caliber Teams. They've also registered a pair of losses against Tournament Teams.

    The system is designed to reward teams who have beaten top tier competition away from home since that is what you have to do in order to win the Title.

    Obviously, with their impressive win today against Syracuse, they will move up. Thanks for the feedback.
